Glass placed on top of your stump tables as a top, can add shape, size, and increase the selection of amorphic stumps you have a choice of (more, below). Glass also serves as an accent looking glass through which viewers may see the beauty of nature. In some cases, however, all wood tops are the answer (more below).
SHAPE: Let's say a 20 inch by 40 inch size fits your space perfectly. Yet at the same time you want the visual "affect" and feeling created by having a natural, amorphic (undulating shape) stump in the room.
SIZE & ACCENT: A glass top extended beyond the edge of the amorphic stump edge adds size and the extended glass edging frames the piece giving an added visual affect for the natural beauty of the figured wood stump top.
Glass may be cut in any size and shape. Even, irregular shapes. We often first, select the amorphic stump that closest fits the need. Then, measure and cut the glass not only to fit the stump but, the space it is intended to fill.
ALL WOOD TOPS: May be what best fits your needs. If you wish an all wood solid (no glass) top, please contact us at your earliest opportunity as these "solid" wood pieces are more rare and require a bit more time.
Some pieces come with "hollows" such as shown in the shop photo taken below. These are more functional with glass tops. Unless you don't mind having a hole in the middle of your table. The hollows are finely finished and add high degrees of character and intrigue to a piece.
