I have contacted the local fab shoppe concerning samples and looked thru a large number of stone slabs that are currently in stock over the past few days. I have placed a few of the more "natural" looking and similar gre

Costs -
3 inch thick smooth edged oak top on a root ball base.. similar as shown above.
$3,400.00

Granite top, about 3/4 inches thick
between $4,300.00 and $5,100.00. I can get some up to date pricing on this stone, if you wish to go this direction.

Ok Jenifer - Just to confirm 24 inches tall - root base - top to be 60 inches by 36 inches - forest green - not too busy but more on the plain texture side.
Yes, we can store it here, if it comes to that.. Just don't want it setting on a shipping dock somewhere. I also will be providing progress, photo's as i routinely take them to provide a history of my work.

Jenifer - received your email of the 8th. I agree, if it is not too much trouble for you to find the stone there,, that would be best.. You will know what you have..

I am in a postion to have my helper start on the cleaning and final seasoning of the piece. I will then take the project from there in about a week to 10 days.. At least we can start..

I have the new length.. 48... thanks for laying it out..
In the rough
Roots are marked and trimmed to fit clients table size.
This piece for a 36  by 48 oval stone top
Next is deinfestation, fire and vacumn chambers are used.
Jenifers stump base begins the detailing process.
Ultra fine sandings. The piece is ready for the fine finishing room where attention to every character trait, crack, and natural detail will take place. Accentuations of character and the overall hue will be adjusted to fit the clients space.
In the end, Jenifer's piece is expected to be as spectacular as the stone top table, (left). We look forward to posting her "in home" photo's here for your viewing.
Jenifer's piece moves from rough - rough thru conditioning - & now ready for a short time in the vacumn chamber, then, fine detailing.

The solid oak "substrait support" top for the granite is complete and ready to install as soon as finishing is completed. Cushioned cork materials for placing under granite arrived yesterday, the 21st.

Natural cracks highlighted to present the shawdow affect of the sun under man made lighting.
Smaller substrate solid oak top for support of granite top (purchased by client).
Oak substrate top firmly attached with 4 countersunk bolts.
The smaller oak top you see on the base below is designed to support the larger oval granite top. 4 ft by 36 in. oval.
